Gerry Molumby: Beat Connection
Gerry first started djing back in the early 1990′s. Initially at house parties and then in various clubs that were around Dublin at that time.
Later that decade he got his first show here on Powerfm, on Tuesday afternoons called ‘The In Sound From Way Out’. Since then Gerry has played in most venues here in Dublin and has supported acts/Dj’s such as Bootsy Collins, Chic, Basement Jaxx, Andy Smith, James Lavelle, Howie B, Fat City, Nightmares on Wax and currently has a weekly residency at ‘Good Fridays’ in RíRá.
In 2004 he took over management of a Dublin based independent record shop called Big Brother Records, later re-titling it ‘BeatFinder Records’ selling mostly Funk, Soul, Disco-edits, House and Electronic Music. Since then Gerry has continued to obsessively collect all kinds of records and DJ. He play’s a very mixed bag of music styles but particularly has a love for all things with a good groove.
Expect to hear lots of Soul, Rare Groove, Rock Breaks, Funky Beats and idle banter. Wednesday evenings 7-9pm on ‘Beat Connection’..
